JOSH GERAK

Richard A. "Rick" Pratt has been leading hiking, biking, and backpacking trips since he was was 17. Rick shares with Josh a passion for bringing people together through adventures in the great outdoors. Rick is an energetic, enthusiastic environmentalist.

To get to know Rick is to be challenged to keep pace with him on bicycle, on foot and discussing what is important in the world and in your life. If you don't already know what motivations drive your own life, you may find yourself taking a new and closer look while getting to know Rick. Many people depart our trips with a new outlook on life, much of that due to Rick's encountering personality and genuine concern for people's happiness.

Rick founded Classic Homeworks in 1985, a residential remodeling and renovation company which he sold in 2005 and is currently semi-retired. He lives in Denver, Colorado with his wife Deana Leeds Pratt and her children, Richard (1986) and Heather Leeds (1983) and foster daughter Tasha King (1983.)

When not renovating houses and traveling with Adventure Trekkers you can find Rick telemark skiing, mountain biking, rock climbing, mountain climbing and canyoneering. Recently Rick has become a World Beat Drumming enthusiast, and will share this new part of his life with you on the trips.

Rick's organization skills and attention to detail help make Adventure Trekkers trips a joy to participate in.

Joshua "Josh" Gerak was an Anasazi Indian in a past life; or at least you would think so after spending several days with him searching out new ruins and elusive artifacts. Given his current Northern European good looks, he is an unlikely desert rat, but there is no place else on the planet where he feels more at home.

He resides in Seattle and has been exploring, hiking, climbing, skiing, kayaking, canyoneering and motivating others to enjoy the outdoors for over 25 years, including 16 years at Adventure Trekkers.

As an experienced international traveler, Josh and his wife, Mary Ellen, travel on behalf of his import business, Adventure Trading, to various parts of the world seeking opportunities to make a difference with the people he meets.

Josh's philosophy on how we should live our lives is fascinating. You will no doubt have a chance to share ideas with him in the most inspiring settings on earth. Getting to know Josh is worth the experience of the trip alone.

Josh appreciates and recognizes people taking risks and stepping out of their comfortable molds. He is a patient guide and the ideal person to lead any group on an adventure since he has a knack for finding his way into and out of the most remote regions.
